Description   This mezuzah was conceived in honor of the Jerusalem 3000 celebrations marking three millennia since King David established his kingdom in the eternal capital of Israel. It commemorates the historic event by blending the timeless traditions of Jewish ritual observance with the singular artistic creativity of Marc Chagall. Crafted of gold-plated bronze, it encloses a 14 color serigraph depicting King David's historic arrival in the Holy City, a striking tableau that is featured in the Chagall tapestry The Exodus, the artist's gift to the State of Israel, on permanent display at the Knesset, Israel's Parliament. Only three thousand numbered copies of the Jerusalem 3000 - King David Mezuza will be produced, each bearing an engraved facsimile of the artist's signature and the Hebrew word Yerushalaim (Jerusalem), as they appear in the original work. Each mezuza is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity and a letter of appreciation from the Mayor of Jerusalem, Ehud Olmert. Small parchment (Item #281) recommended.
